1928 Preston Baths Plaque
Original piece from from the baths in St George’s Road, Preston Victoria which was erected in 1928. During the depression it was one of Darebin council’s public works projects to provide employment, morale and a place of leasure for the community.
The sign is cast concrete with fine aggregate and comes with the original mounting holes. Motifs include a First Nations gentleman with a boomerang and two ‘nymphs’ swimming around its perimeter.
Once only chance to own this piece of history from Melbourne’s north! Great decorator and talking point and could also be mounted externally also.
